Stop posting and ghosting

Keep your social strategy from falling behind.

You’re posting consistently. You’ve diversified your outreach. You’ve invested real time and effort into your strategy. But somehow… your metrics are still not what you expected.

The marketing landscape is constantly changing. What worked last year might already be outdated. If you are not keeping up with trends, especially on social media, your strategy and accompanying tactics may be collecting dust.

It's easy to focus on just getting content out the door when you are wearing multiple hats. But posting and ghosting doesn’t serve you or your audience. Without staying informed on best practices and platform changes, you’re wasting effort, reaching fewer people, and leaving opportunities on the table.

That’s not something you can afford.

Keep up with the basics that actually move the needle.

Subscribe to a few marketing newsletters. These are worth keeping on your radar:

  • Social Media Examiner (for strategy changes)

  • Later (for platform-specific updates)

  • HubSpot Marketing Blog (for trends and tips)

  • Ann Handley (for keeping it real)

Follow social media accounts that share trending audio, video inspiration, and quick rundowns of new features.

Own your social media.

Reading about the latest updates + trends isn’t enough. You have to act on the ones that will benefit you and your audience. Block time monthly to review changes (and how they have performed) and adjust your approach accordingly. Think of it as maintenance for your marketing engine. Without it, you’re burning fuel but not getting very far.

You can do this.

Constantly tweaking your strategy can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s about having a system. Choose one or two items to fine tune and start making the rules work for you… not against you.
